Accessibility Statement
Last updated:
This statement covers the website tradecalculator.co.uk, operated by Tredecology Ltd. We want the site to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice control, or browsers set to high contrast or reduced motion.
1. Conformance target
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. At the date above, the site is partially conformant. Some older pages still carry drift from earlier designs; we are fixing them as we audit.
2. Features that support accessibility
- Every calculator input is reachable by keyboard with a visible focus indicator.
- Skip-to-content link on every page.
- Every form control has a programmatic label; error messages are associated via
aria-describedby. - Result values are announced to screen readers via a polite ARIA live region when a calculation completes.
- Search is a full combobox pattern: Up/Down browses results, Enter activates, Escape clears or closes.
- Colour contrast meets WCAG AA for body text and interactive surfaces.
- Respects
prefers-reduced-motion— non-essential animations are suppressed. - The site is usable without JavaScript for reading content; calculators require JavaScript to compute results.
- Language attribute
en-GBis set on every page.
3. Known limitations
We are working through an audit-driven remediation programme. Specific areas still being improved:
- Some category landing pages have headings that jump from H1 to H3 — being corrected across content sections.
- A handful of calculator pages have decorative icons that need
aria-hiddento avoid screen-reader clutter. - Print stylesheet currently hides the site’s branding — we are iterating on a print view that preserves context.
4. How to get help
If you cannot access or use any part of the site, please email admin@tredecology.co.uk. We aim to respond within five working days.
In your message please include:

5. Enforcement

6. Our testing methodology
The site is tested with a combination of:
- axe-core automated scans against every route;
- manual keyboard-only walk-throughs on representative calculators and content pages;
- review with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver screen readers on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari;
- contrast-ratio checks on every colour pair in the design system.
